Huddersfield university degree classification

Hi, I’ve just finished my second year at Huddersfield University and I want to work out my overall degree grade. I’m unsure how much each year is worth over all or if the first year is even counted to the overall degree classification. I’ve searched the Huddersfield website but I can’t find anything that explains this. Can anyone help ?

Hi, your degree classification depends on your course and if you do a placement year. If you are a student of the School of Computing and Engineering, your placement year grade counts towards 25% of your degree classification too.

Otherwise, 2nd year has a weighting of 25% of your grade, and then 75% of it is final year.
Then in terms of workout out your grades so far, we take the top 100 credits out of the 120 you take so essentially you get to drop your worst-performing module. For example if you got the following grades out of your six modules:
70, 72, 70, 72, 70 and 48. Your 48 would not count towards your grade for second year. And then to work out your grade average you would add together the five modules you are carrying and divide by five. That is your grade for the year.

Best wishes,

What if it was for a BSc Nursing degree?

Our nursing degree has placement integrated throughout rather than a set placement year, so 2nd year will count towards 25% of your degree classification with final year making up the remaining.

Many thanks,
