is a year 7 too young to like a year 9?

I found myself looking at a guy that looked older than me. He looked had a cute smile, but the most embarrassing part was little did I know we were both looking at each other. idk y? But like I for some reason like the people that I’ve never talked to before in my life, mostly all of my crushes. On that same time, it was assembly and we were waiting to go in, when we got in I sat down thinking it was js some random eye candy. When I turned around I’ve found myself looking at the same guy across the room, in the year 9 area. I didn’t think much until the next day, I left Maths and I see the same guy standing near the school gates I always go out of. idk, but is this a sign? am I overthinking? am I too young to like a year 9?
