Can I work if I am 15 and have my NI number?
I have seen a few similar posts from several years ago but they all provide fairly ambiguous answers.
I have just finished GCSEs and am no longer in school, I will be attending 6th form after the long Summer holidays and I intend or hope to at least work during this summer before I start 6th form.
I have just received my national insurance number, and want to know if that is enough or I have to be 16 as well. Google provides contrasting answers so I am looking for something definitive.
All the big retailers, restaurants and cafe's etc seem to require you to be 16 however I turn 16 in two weeks and there is seemingly no difference for them as I have my NI number and am willing to work.
So, do I have to be 16?

You can start applying for any jobs you want to work for now as the time they start processing any potential interviews you'll have turned 16. You have your national insurance number so you can apply it to any online applications for jobs.
Summer time is huge for supermarkets and other retailers for young people so you need to get cracking on things. All supermarkets will have a age 18 restrictions on certain departments but otherwise you will be fine.
Boots the chemist is the only main employer who'll take on young people at age of 15 with age 18 restrictions in place.
You'll have to apply for jobs Via any of the supermarkets and retailers own website okay.
