Oxbridge undergraduate conditional offers

Hi! I guess my question could apply to all universities but I’m curious about Oxbridge in particular.

If your predicted grades are higher than the minimum entry requirements (Say the requirements for a subject you want is AAA and your grades are A*AA), and you get an offer, would your conditional offer require you to get at least your predicted grades or is it still the minimum entry grades?

If that makes sense. Sorry I’m waffling!

It would be the published offer grades.
At least in my college at Cambridge, it is not routine to do this and I have never heard of it happening. Occasionally, they set higher offers but this is not because of your predicted grades.

Is it at all possible to know in what circumstances higher grades would be asked for? 🙂 If so, it would be much appreciated.

It depends on the subject and uni really
From my experience for engineering at Oxford higher offers are almost unheard of, while at Cambridge they’re actually very common, many people I know have a higher than standard offer, some even above their predicted

I got a higher STEP offer assumedly because I was a gap year applicant. The standard offer is 1,1 but mine was an S,1

I don't know about other cases and none involving A-Level grades. Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about it

From reading various posts by Cambridge admissions tutors, it's to challenge certain applicants to prove their ability.

You might get a higher offer than standard if they think, having read your application and interviewed you, that you need stretching, or might slack off and cruise, if a standard offer is easily in reach.
