KCL PPE

I’m a Year 12 Student, who is preparing to start uni in 2025.

I’m currently looking at PPE, but a lot of the unis have quite high applications. I’m predicted AAB at the time of writing although I think I can achieve higher than this.

At the moment my aspirational choice is KCL, whose requirements are A*AA. I’m wondering whether I have a chance of getting in?

According to UCAS, A*AA Students have an 100% Acceptance Rate, and AAB 57%.

I’m aware contextual offers may inflate this percent, but just wanted to make sure I had a chance.

Wsg my brother/sister, sorry that you haven't had any responses to this. I've firmed PPE at King's for this year actually, and it's amazing to see that you've considered King's for PPE as your aspirational; I did tooo (London > coventry any day of the week so warwick I said no them).

So your chances of getting in then? Welll, it comes down to many factors my dear friend. I believe you have strong chances; bolsten your personal statement and talk about all three disciplines not just 2 out of the three etc., and also your GCSE profile if you don't mind me asking? If you have achieved a majority of 7s 8s and 9s w/ only a few 4/5/6s say like 3 or 4 tops then you are calmm. But even then, what really matters imo is the personal statement your passion for the subject. Also are you eligible for contextual offers too? That way, your AAB predicted is just finee but more on that later. Yeahh you are right on that 57% being inflated by contextual offers, but my dear friend, you definitely stand a chance. About your predicteds and you thinking you can achieve higher; get your teacher/referee to mention on your reference about you being capable to achieving higher than the predicteds; or even, if it's not too late already, to try and get them to up it maybe by explaining your case to them. But Depending on

Always remember that there is also an element of luck to it as with anything really; university admissions is an arbitrary process (actually as rejected by all 5 universities cambridge lse ucl kcl and warwick for pure econ last year even before I sat my exams because of my personal statement so I've reapplied, for ppe with maths econ and further maths at a level whereby politics or philosphy would've even been more relevant than further maths but they still took me– but although they do specify that they don't have any required or even preferred subjects tbh). But yeah no I think you are definitely in good stead and have as good of a chance as anyone else if not better than, because you're already thinking about it now. Most Y12s are gonna be thinking about UCAS when they return back to school in Y13 in September; some will even leave it as far back as December/January even haha. And so, do definitely start going through drafts of your personal statement this summer and getting some super-curricular stuff done as well like book reading and open days just for insights etc. But I'm here to say that you definitely have a chance. Because if I was given one after being rejected by them last year, reapplied this year for a different course and they acted like nothing ever happened last year, no biases for switching, then you definitely do stand a chance from a fresh start💫🔵

Congrates ! JVorJrose for getting KCL PPE offer.

May I ask what did you apply this year and what offers did you get? Did U just use your exam grade last time to re-apply?

Hi JVorJrose,
How was the ratio of the three disciplines in your personal statement? Does it need very even length in each discipline? Your offer from Bristol seems not been affected by writing three disciplines.

what's good man; ahh with regards to my statement what I did on addressing the three disciplines was that I made it so that all the subject themes interwine with each other since philosophy, politics and economics are all related still. regarding bristol - yeahh i applied for econpol there instead. it wasn't affected since actually, my main theme was politics and economics, but when i addressed philosophy i addresed political, philosophy, and so it worked well - utilitarianism, to be precise. even then, it wasn't too much only one paragraph; 5 paras total, intro was politics/econ, second was politics/econ but more econ, third was politics/econ but more politics, fourth was political philosophy, and last was about myself and my achievements, which exemplified skills that showed logic, critical thinking, etc. via maths challenge awards etc, so it addressed ppe as a whole I guess.
