Have you considered Exeter as well? Many of the universities you've mentioned were decent, but I would recommend going to open days at each of them so you can see what they're like 😊

I think it would depend on where in the country suits you. Aberystwyth is excellent for CS and also in the middle of nowhere, if that floats your boat. Whereas Portsmouth would be more of a city vibe.

Thanku for the information I'll try to do more research about all the university as I was planning to proceed with Bangor University.

Hi @Shraddhasinghdeo ,

If you are still considering Sheffield Hallam, I can give you a bit more information on what it is like studying here!

Firstly, If you have any specific questions about the computer science course itself, we are on a platform called The Ambassador Platform where you can chat to students who are currently studying at Hallam and ask them any questions about the course, uni life or just anything in general about university. This is the link for this platform: https://www.shu.ac.uk/study-here/student-chat
We have a couple of students here who study computing courses so it’s worth having a look and asking them any questions that you have about choosing this course!

As for the university in general, I have found the teaching to be really good here. The teachers are very helpful and they are always there to answer your questions. You get assigned three advisors at the start of the year- an academic advisor, an employability advisor and a student support advisor. These are great because you get to know them and they are there for you if you need it! You can ask any questions and set meetings up with them if needed too.

The students and people in Sheffield are very friendly too. This was one of the reasons I chose Hallam as everyone was very friendly which I really liked. I also like that my seminar classes are quite small so you really get to know everyone in your class which is good as it is less daunting doing presentations or talking in front of the class!
The tutors in seminars are also really nice too which makes you feel a lot more comfortable and confident in your work.

Sheffield is also a great city to live in as there is lots to do. There are some really nice cafes and restaurants which are all well priced as there are lots of students in the city. It’s also good for going out if you like doing this as there are so many places to go and there are always students out! Shopping is good too 🙂

I hope some of this helps and let me know if you have any other questions!

Lucy -SHU student ambassador.

Hello there,

Computer Science is one of the most popular courses at Cardiff Met. The School of Technologies is located at the Llandaff campus.

Cardiff is a small and vibrant city where you can hang out with friends easily in the evening. You can either take a 30 minute bus ride, or if the weather is nice, you can walk through Bute park to go to the city centre.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on [email protected] and we are more than happy to assist you.
