Hey guys ever since secondary school I knew something wasn't right with me in maths. I was always behind in class and it just never felt right my school teachers would always tell me to keep trying they basically just said am lazy when I had to ask about extra time and then I asked about dyscalculia in GP and I have gotten no answer so far no referral no nothing. I did not know about this maths disorder not until the finishing days of school with my maths teacher he said I may have it .

Yes in school I only got extra time and that's it my friend said I will have to wait years until my dyscalculia proof

M crying at this , I rlly want to be normal like everyone else in maths. Please anyone reply much appreciated wht to do with this problem

GPs aren't involved in assessing SpLDs (mine explicitly said this to me) so you need to do it through your school/college/university normally.

Your school should have a process for screening for SpLDs and then assessing them if in the screening you are identified as likely to have it. You'll then have an assessment and they will determine if you have a SpLD. Once you get their report back confirming the diagnosis, your school will be able to put in place various support mechanisms as needed.

In terms of what support you'll get this may vary depending on the school, your studies, and your SpLD. You may just be entitled to extra time in the end but they may recommend some additional support options.
