Career prospects with MSc from Imperial

I’ve been accepted onto Imperial’s MSc in Security Science and Technology. My BSc is from LSE in a social sciences subject (I’ve just graduated). I’m wondering whether it would be silly to turn down such an amazing opportunity to study something STEM related and very relevant for year. The downside is the cost of the course. Would the MSc from Imperial add value to my CV, and if so by how much? - considering careers in financial services firms.

I’m somehow in a similar situation. I have an offer from Imperial for MSc in Environmental Technology. I also have a social sciences background. The course is fairly quantitative and I have no experience in it. I also have offers from Warwick, Leeds and Sussex for degrees that I am more suitable in terms of academic and professional background. Similarly, waiting for the decision of Manchester and Edinburgh.

One thing that actually makes me undecisive is certainly Imperial’s reputation. I bet people would be dying to get an offer from there and employers would be wow’ing. Really confusing 🫣

Hey sorry didn’t see this! Wow congrats on the environmental tech offer. I know someone who did that and enjoyed their time there (also with a social sciences background). What did you end up deciding? And yes, I do think the name brand of ICL is a wow factor regardless.
