A level maths

I'm a yr 12 student currently failing all my topic tests and I sit my exam in November. Can I still get an A if I really try? I'm starting to lose hope

My sister was getting U/D/Es in year 12 and managed to get a solid A in the actual exam. However she did end up "sacrificing" her summer to learn all year 1 stuff and the begining of year 2 content. Main advice is to make sure you have a solid foundation of the content learnt in year 12 before september. Watch loads of TL maths, make sure you have a reliable "online teacher" to help you with understanding. Its hard just using the textbook to teach yourself.

If you really lock in an A can be achievable. However if youre really worried retaking yr 12 is always an option. I think mindset is really important as well, i was getting low C's in the begining of year while people were already getting As. I got lazy and lost motivation to revise but on a recent topic test i got 2 marks of an A*. So never give up. Work at small goals, aim to get at least one grade higher in the next test. Practice makes permanent

If you work hard it is achieveable. I was similar, at the beginning I wasn't passing many topic tests and I decided to make sure I knew the content and fundamentals in order to begin attempting questions in the areas I was weakest in. Then I decided to do a past paper each week to help me imporve my technique and it began paying off. After I did evey set avaliable to me it startrd to click with questions I was doing in class. I began revision for my year 12 mocks and began doing all the papers again and I was improving my scores without the help I had before. Ive just done as 2024 paper 1 and I was comfortable with it, which is a huge achievement comapared to my failed attempts at topic tests before. I'm using tl maths a lot to reinforce content.

Good luck!
