How Can I Be Sure of My Personality Type?

Knowing your own personality type can provide valuable insights into your behaviors, preferences, and interactions with others. It can also help you make informed decisions about your employment, relationships, and personal growth. However, due to the complexity of human personality and the variety of assessment tools available, determining your personality type can be challenging. So how do I determine it?

Personally, I don’t really believe in personality types or zodiac signs or anything as such. I just think you are what you are and don’t let it define you. Also I feel like personalities change after certain experiences so there can’t be a set personality type. Just what I believe, but you can probably take a quiz online?

Start with something popular like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or the Big Five personality test. They’re pretty straightforward and give you a good baseline.

If you don't know your own personality, surely part of your personality is irresolute?

Sorry. I’m going to have to be a personality nerd and correct you. Do not use tests for MBTI- they’re never accurate and you’re supposed to use cognitive functions anyway. (Read some books and listen to professionals on your preferred system- that’s the best way to figure it out)
As for OP- if you want to figure out your personality, you can start with personality models (my favourite is enneagram) but finding out your type in any of these won’t be the end goal. Essentially by trying to sus out your type you get practice at introspection and deep thinking about your own behaviours, so eventually you have a deep knowledge about yourself and no longer need a system to guide you. Personality typology systems can be a great tool, but think of them more as a practice tool or training ground for you to learn how to learn about yourself.
It takes time and there never is an end point, but it is also very valuable to know about yourself.

I think personailty metrics such as MBTI are a load of doo doo. I can actively swap between 4 personalities based on how I feel on a particular day.

I think while it is true you can embody traits and fill the roll of a personality by name, you may never really be that personality, and may grow out of it as you experience more things.

I think you have to look inwards and analyse yourself and your actions in situations to see how you really are. Sadly I don't think many people are self aware enough to do so.

Personally I think personality types are just rubbish like zodiac signs. Sure you may have traits similar to those sections but I think personalities are too complex so you cant identify them into topics.
I think the best way to determine ur personality is reflecting on yourself and being truly honest and realistic. This way, you have a more tailored knowledge of what sort of personality type you have as you can link things to past experiences or challenges which can give you a deeper insight to your personal self.
I do think its crucial to remember that personalities will change like from changes in personal growth so I think the best way to determine is from looking within because at the end of the day, you know yourself better than anyone.
