Edexcel A-level further mathematics grade boundaries 2024

Why is everyone saying they'll be super high, like 250?

I'm doing FS1 and FP1 (3A and 3B) so if you guys can comment specifically on what you think the boundaries will be for those options that would be great.

In 2022 it was 247, but in 2019 and 2023 it was 237 - isn't it more likely to be that then? CP1 was easy but FS1 was hard - overall it was probably pretty standard. Idk, it's confusing to guess - why was it so high in 2022? And do you guys really think it'll be around 250 cos why???

2022 Papers were extremely easy compared to any other year and they were given advanced information, I do FM1 and FS1 so it would have been 245 ish if it was an easy further stats paper, but because it was hard I think at the absolute max it will be 240

I've averaged the polls from 2023 and 2024 for fs1 and d1, overall it's a 1.35% increase in great, 3.55% increase in quite well, 1.2% decrease in not so good and 3.2% decrease in terrible.. so if I had to guess it's probably 229-235 for an A*? fs1 is probably 54 marks, cp1 67 marks, cp2 58 marks, d1 55 marks. Would be fun to see how close I am on results day lol

remember that different people do different modules so grade boundaries would be different for others. From what I have heard - Mechanics 1 was the easiest module so you could expect A* boundary to be higher for that. Decision and Stats has caused problems this year so could expect lower grade boundaries for this selected modules.

um, no further pure 1 was and is, the easiest module by far... fp1 then fm1 then fs1 then d1 from easiest to hardest. people who do fp1 are smart as well; also the 2nd options like fp2 fm2 fs2 and d2 see higher grade boundaries for this reason. I don't personally enjoy fm1, but the year's paper was harder than 019's. I did d1 as well but people who took three options at my school (self taught themselves fp1) all said 90% minimum, and the general consensus online as well. grade boundaries reflect this too; fp1 options have amongst the highest; interestingly enough fm1 and d1 have had the lowest marks ever since.

isn't that what I said in my post. D1 and FS1 being the hardest and the other modules being the easiest. Well perhaps - what I may have got wrong was the FM1 part. Those who did FS1 and D1 will expect LOWER grade boundaries compared to someone say who did FP1 and FM1. Only thing I got wrong was saying "Fm1 was easiest".

yeahh, I know lol apologies if it came on too forceful; I just got shook when you said that about fm1 lol

nah FP1 probably was, any slightly hard question was a show that, i reckon it’ll be 69+ for an A* in FP1

Do you reckon the grade boundaries for FM this year would be more or less similar to last years?

really depends on the module my brother/sister; what modules are you taking? in terms of grading ofqual have said that it'll be similar to last year's, but in terms of boundaries? imho, I think, core pure 1 going up 14-16 marks to around 66, core pure 2 going up to around 8-10 marks,
edit: cp2 not up 8-10 marks; anywhere from 2-6.

because d'you know what yeah... take everything, on here, for a grain of salt alright. people on these study forums as well as reddit study forums are the top percentiles of people; they are smart. a minority tho as well as being smart can also be quite arrogant and boastful and exclaim they've gotten full marks and list out how they solved the hardest questions, and this can set people into downwards spirals and lead them to believe that they've done really poorly. the truth is people on here and reddit aren't representative of the whole population of takers, alright. core pure 1 wasn't "amazing," for everyone. it wouldn't be 70+ for an A*; it would be closer to 65 for example. and people who didn't do quite as well on here (and reddit) may be afraid to say, because everyone else seems to be excelling; the same goes for posting university offers on i.e. reddit for example. people wouldn't post an offer from london met or kent or coventry; they'll post oxford n cambridge n lse n warwick n bristol n manchester n ucl n kcl n imperial n durham n bath n so on n so on (in no particular order). same goes. so, when you see like people who say they excelled a particular module don't feel like ahhh the boundaries are gonna be through the roof now; it's only a small % of the pop. most people also overestimate how well they did; don't account for silly mistakes and shi. I mean, even bicen maths said decision maths and further stats was grim, more or less. aight. don't worry man, take heart, you've probably done well (and better than me lol). don't take here for the general consensus; 2023 was getting everything back to 2019 levels asap (they could've eased it out over the next couple of years but they said nah let's do it now). so, the boundaries would be different because the papers were ultimately different, but such a shock like last year's wouldn't become a shock as much, it'll be calculated similarly– as in the bell curve.

seconded from what my peers who did 3 options were sayin, tho to account for silly mistakes of B1 marks maybe perhaps exactly 69/75 or suttm
