Currently at Lincoln.

The city is very small, you can walk across it in around 15 minutes. But, its historical and compact. Very safe city too. The nightlife is very good. There are lots of societies that you can join that have socials throughout the week, with most socials being drinking socials. There are student nights throughout the week, where drinks are cheap. The SU bar is expensive and so many people just go to town, but there are lots of cheaper places there. There's a place called Trebles where you can get any treble + mixer for around £4.20 last time I went. Absolutely superb for pre-drinking before going to one of the 4 clubs. The SU also has an event called 'Quack' every Wednesday, which is fairly okay.

Accommodation is good, but pricey. Only place to park in official accommodation is Valentine Court, where I was for first year. A lot of people go to iQ Pavillions, so check that out if you want Lincoln. Most, like me, did first year in halls and then went into a private rented house with my flatmates from first year. Uni accommodation is around £140 a week, whereas private house can be as cheap as £80 a week.

Unfortunately I don't do Eng Lang so I can't offer you any help for the course details.

Hope this helps

Hiya,

Sheffield is a great place as a student and I do not regret my decision at all! With a cost of living under the national average, you will find yourself better placed with student budgeting. In addition, as it is a city uni, there are several independent cafes and restaurants which are student friendly with discounts. We also have the peak district right on our doorway, so it is a perfect spot for a day trip with friends. In terms of nightlife, we have our own club in the SU, which hosts popular nights out. Societies also do bar crawls along West Street, which is also popular amongst students. In terms of accommodation, there are three options: city, ranmoor and endcliffe. The city accommodation is closest to the uni campus at 10 minutes to SU and naturally to the city as well. Ranmoor and Endcliffe are around 5 minutes away from each other with Endcliffe holding the largest student population for first years. They have their own gym and pub on accom site.

To find out more details about your course, you can use our chat to us service where you can talk to someone who is already taking your course:

Hope all of this helps and let me know if you have anymore questions!

Hi there! Student at Cardiff here

Student life is good. We have a really active student union, that holds regular events, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Societies are really active as well, and most hold events on a weekly basis. We have over 200 societies, so there's lots to get involved in. In my opinion it's one of the highlights of uni life - I've picked up a few new hobbies since coming to uni! In case you are curious, here are all the societies Cardiff has got to offer.

Everything is pretty much close by, and the fact that the campus is right by the city center is really convenient! Some of our libraries are open 24/7 and there are some useful services such as the ability to rent laptops.

Nightlife is great! We've got the Y Plas, which is a study space/food court by day and a club by night. The student union itself holds 2 club nights a week usually, but music societies such as Taylor Swift society organises themed club nights as well! There are also a few places to party in city center, which is only a 10 minute walk away from the campus.

The english lit and lang course in Cardiff, from what I've heard, is a lovely course. The building for this course is right next to the ASSL, one of the biggest libraries on campus. There's the opportunity to study abroad and get industry experience. As someone who has just finished their placement year - definitely can vouch that getting work experience is definitely a great opportunity!

Accommodation is really affordable, and suits a wide range of budgets. I'd recommend having a look at this link to learn more about Cardiff accommodation. In general though, I would say everything is a walkable distance. You barely spend any money on travel (unless you're visiting home of course!)

I hope thats helped, let me know if you had any more questions!
