Preparing for university mechanical engineering

I am looking to attend university next year to study design and mechanical engineering. I've finished my A-Levels and want to do some courses, extracurricular activities or something to help ease the transition into university and also help me gain a better insight into engineering. Is anyone in university or within the engineering field able to recommend any websites, courses or books that would help?
Just be solid on maths.

If you want an extracurricular activity learn how to script in codes like: python & matlab (matlab tends to be better at uni/academia, python is preferred in industry).

Hi @Srh_ ,

Firstly, congrats for finishing your A-levels! My number one suggestion to help ease the transition into first year is to make sure you are well practiced in math, the math needed at university builds upon what you learnt at A-level therefore it is important to have a solid foundation of knowledge so that you can build upon it in the future. If you are wanting to hit the ground running I also suggest learning Matlab and Solidworks, they are two important parts of studying mechanical engineering.
