Will I still get into St Andrews econ with A*AB?

I have just finished my A levels and am hoping to study MA Economics at St Andrews starting this September. My offer is AAA, but following my A levels I feel a realistic outcome for me will be A*AB, because I felt my maths went really well and physics not so much. Will this be good enough to balance out and still get me into St Andrews? Or is the course too competitive and they won’t accept anyone who gets a B even with an A*.
I am hoping that if needs must I can phone the uni on results day and beg, as I am due an A in my EPQ and since applying I have got my grade 8 in piano. Just wondering if I’m stressing for nothing or if I should be worried!!

Hi,

Well done on doing your A levels, it's a challenging time in life!

I had an offer for St Andrews and I missed one of the grade requirements in Physics A level, like you have suggested you feel like you may have done. Although I received a lower grade in physics, I received a higher grade than required in another one of my subjects.

Unfortunately I lost my offer due to this, as I did not meet the exact terms of my offer.

What I will say is try not to be so hard on yourself! You won't know until results day and your application may still be considered, it will depend on a number of things and the university's requirements.

I hope this helps and best of luck
