Health and social care

Hi guys,
I am currently in year 2 of health and social care extended diploma and these are all the grades l got:
unit 5 - D 24
unit 6 - D 16
unit 7 - D 24
unit 12 - D 16
unit 1 - M
unit 2 - M
unit 4 - P
unit 3 - P
unit 8 - D 24
unit 14 - D 16
unit 17 - D 16
unit 18 - D 16
unit 19 - D 16
The ones with ticks are all coursework and l have gotten a distinction in them all Alhamdullilah. However l struggled with my unit 3 and 4 exams and got passes. I am really scared if it will drop my overall grade. With last years grade l got an overall D. But since l got the 2 passes will it lower my whole grade. I was aiming for a D*D*D* but since i got 2 passes l dont think l will :frown:. I worked so hard and l was mentally exhausted to just resit and just wasn't bothered. But yeah... What do you guys think l will get as my final grade. Can l still get Ds as my final??

For the internal (coursework) units you correctly listed the number of points which all those distinctions are worth (i.e. 16 or 24 depending on the size of the unit). These sum to 168 points.

For the external (examined) units, the points you earn are not only based on your grade (and the size of the unit, in guided learning hours - GLH), but also on the mark you obtained. As you don't know (or simply haven't provided) your marks, I'll use a range below.

Unit 1: A Merit in a 90 GLH external unit earns you between 15 and 23 points.
Unit 2: A Merit in a 120 GLH external unit earns you between 20 and 31 points.
Unit 3: A Pass in a 120 GLH external unit earns you between 12 and 19 points.
Unit 4: A Pass in a 120 GLH external unit earns you between 12 and 19 points.

If we sum these ranges, and then add the 168 points from your internal (coursework) units, we see that your overall points are between 227 and 260. In terms of an overall grade, this means between DDD and D*D*D. Only with your marks (or points) for units 1 through 4 can we work out your overall grade more accurately.
