Why is it that my friends and family encouraged me to make an extreme decision to

To drop out of A Levels because of one subject? Like one subject lead to failing all of them
I wouldnt drop out because you will regret it however if you are struggling with a subject i would repeat y12 but choose a different subject to study instead , many of the people i know did this and they are really happy with their choice.
You shouldnt let your friends or family control your descision as you only know whats best for you!

Yep and I really couldn't cope so I decided to leave. It's due to mental health issues that I couldn't cope. Despite getting the grades and one U grade in a subject (not the subject I was struggling in surprisingly) I decided leaving was the best decision ever if my family and friends controlled it in a way.

What if the subject you are struggling in is the one you cant drop since it goes on UCAS? It's an external exam.

I guess my friends encouraged me to leave in a way because I was struggling academically, always complaining and stress but when I was achieving they encouraged me to continue but my family say studying is not for me since I can't balance life with studies even though my teachers thought I could get top grades.
