You can always leave a job if you wish. However, note that certain employers (NHS, for example) will want to know your employment history, including the dates you worked for them. Employers offering seasonal contracts may also offer you a part-time position following the seasonal dates based on your performance and whether they have space for you.

In terms of part-time jobs at university, employers like McDonald's are brilliant in terms of flexibility, but your hours can be unsocial. Don't be surprised if you are put on overnights (2100-0600) or late finishes (anywhere from 2200 to 0200).

yes, if you get the job at mcdonalds, you can leave the one at next. Just make sure you give the right amount of notice (which seeing as you wont ave been there long wont be much). Having multiple jobs whilst a student is commpnplace. Especially if some jobs are only temp jobs, or you move jobs when going to uni/going home etc.
Id deffo go for the mcdonalds job if you get it though, as its permanent. They are also very flexible. So you can do more hours over summer/less hours round exam time etc. You can also transfer to other stores nearer uni/home if you go to uni.

Having several part time jobs whilst at 6th form/college/uni is commonplace though. Especially if certain jobs are only temp jobs (not all candidates can be kept on, especially if there arent the permanent jobs there). Or people move jobs when going to uni/going home. Employers that want to know your job history are aware of this. As long as the OP can provide good references etc and have valid reasons for leaving jobs then thats fine.
Id advise the OP to go for the permanent job though if they get it. Yes they may get kept on at the temp job but there is no guarantee of this.

I'M sorry, this is off-topic, but how long did it take for them to give you a job offer after you applied, because i applied on Thursday, 20/06/24 and they haven't gotten back to me

I received a phone call interview the day after I applied and they asked me to come in for a store interview the day prior which I did and I received the offer on the same day after the store assessment through a phone call. Hopefully this helps.

I do agree with this. I worked there for the best part of two years and couldn’t wait to get out.

- Progression is based on whether your face fits.
- You get micromanaged, a lot. Such as spot checks where they weigh your mcflurries to make sure they’re the right grammage, even though they don’t provide you with scales in the first place!
- It’s hot, so hot. You’ll also be buying a new pair of shoes every month as the hot oily floors wreck them.
- Customers throw things at you for forgetting their ketchup, or will square up and put their hands round the neck of a 16 year old on Christmas Eve because they forgot a portion of fries (happened to me)

The hours are good though, if you want loads of hours. If you don’t want loads of hours, unfortunately you will still be made to work 30 hours even on your 0 hour contract.

I moved to Asda as a delivery driver after working for McDonald’s. Best decision I made. Managers left you to do your job, no micromanagement at all, set hours every week (I worked Thursday, Friday and Sunday to suit around college), and customers were nice.
