English at Uni

I'm in year 12 doing English Language. I've been going to open days and I've realised that for many English courses I need English Literature. This is an issue as I don't do Literature and I was wondering if it's possible to get onto these courses with only English Language? I'm predicted to get an A and I got 9 in English Literature GCSE. Of course, I know why they require Literature A Level and completely get if there's nothing I can do, I just need to figure it out.

I also want to ask, does anyone know if English Language degrees are valued less than English Literature degrees? Whilst I really enjoy English Language, I just feel so.. limited, and I'm also worried doing a Language degree will worsen my career prospects. If I could redo my A Levels, I would definitely pick Literature now that I know.

Most Universities will say, I'm in Year 12 too and most unis in their entry requirements for English normally say English Literature or often English Language & Literature combined, you'll have to check individual Unis and if not then may have to look into ones that don't.
You could always do an AS in English Literature 12-13 or do what one of my friends is doing and do an extra years to Year 14
