Does the First Year Count Towards My Degree at Coventry?

I'm currently pursuing a BA (Hons) in Business Management and Leadership at CU Coventry. I've heard from some fellow students that the first year doesn't count towards your final degree classification, so passing is all that matters. Is this accurate?

Thanks.

if you've already heard it from students, why are you asking here, a place occupied primarily by more students?

if you can't find the answer on the university website, the quickest place for an accurate answer will be asking your department

Yeah first year doesn’t normally go towards your final grade, but it will be very important if your trying to get a good placement in your placement year

Hi there,
Coventry University student ambassador here!
Yes! The information is correct, the first year results are not considered in the final mark calculated to graduate. Although marks scored in your first year could be of use in situations/subjects where you might have scored a lower mark or been lacking to average out your grade when needed.
I hope this was helpful.
Kind regards,
Harleen.
