How to decline conditional offer for clearing?

I decided I don’t want to go to my firm choice and I’ve seen online that there is a “reject offer” button on results day but that is only for if you have an unconditional offer, so how would I enter clearing with a conditional offer?

On Results Day morning your offer status will either be Rejected or Unconditional.

Decline my Place is only available if your firm is unconditional.
If you’re sure now then ring ucas on Monday. They can swap your reply from firm to decline instead of waiting for results day.

Yeah I’ll probably do that, but is there any point of doing that though? Since I would only be able to use clearing on results day so even if I decline my offer early, I would be able to do nothing

1 in 8 applicants don’t have a decision on results day (for a whole range of reasons - sometimes not all results come through, sometimes a university wants to talk to you about alternative courses, sometimes a university is just slow or hedging their bets to see how much interest they get in clearing).
If you’re one of those applicants then you could spend all day on the phone to your firm choice trying to force a decision so you can use clearing instead of calling clearing universities.
