Overpayment from student finance

I was suspended from my studies in January due to my DBS not arriving in time. All of my student finance was stopped so I have not had a loan since January. I am now back on my course, however I had a letter from student finance saying because I got my January loan and then was suspended, I technically wasn't meant to get all of it as it was payment for Jan through to April (when I wasn't in uni). I called them the other day asking when I was going to get my loan as I am back in uni now, but they said the money that I was over paid by is the same amount I was due to get in April, therefore I am not owed anything. I have bills and rent due, as well as money travelling to and from placement each day. I dont know if there is anything else I can do in order to get a payment.
I am not sure if I explained any of that right as it is very confusing, but I would appreciate any advice/ help. Also I am unable to get a job to help with money as I am on a full time nursing course which includes placement at a hospital, so have no free time to work.
Thanks in advance!

I was suspended from university in Jan of this year due to my DBS not coming back in time. I am now back in uni on placement, but received a letter from student finance saying I have been overpaid. I think this is because I was given my loan that covers Jan-April but then was suspended at the end of Jan. I have spoken to someone and have sent off a form covering financial hardship, but was told there is no time frame for when i will receive a response, or if i am even guaranteed to get anything.
If possible, I was hoping to just add the over payment onto my loan as a whole, so when I finish uni it could just be added onto the overall amount, and then the money I could receive now. I am not sure if this is an option though and how I go about it.
Is there anything else I can do in the meantime to help with finances? My parents help with what they can, but they can't afford to cover my rent from now until September. I am also unable to work as it is a full time nursing course and I am out on placement - I do not have a lot of free time.

I hope all of this makes sense.
Thank you

Hi there,

You can apply for Financial Hardship to defer any overpayments that you have. As you shouldn't of gotten that January payment and you did, did you not repay it so you'd still be eligible for your next one?

As you got the January instalment it is correct that your next payment would be cancelled as it would be for the same total as the one you got in January.

Thanks,
Ross
