because you're under 16 i assume, most hospitals/gp surgeries won't take you for actual clinical shadowing. a good alternative would be to try care homes, primary schools and nurseries as these will build your communication skills and have you working with a particular demographic. for your actual clinical shadowing, the best time to do it is either the summer after year 11, year 12 or the summer between year 12 and 13

oh no :frown:
i really wanted to shadow a gp , but i guess am too young for that.
perhaps if i go to a carehome near me of dementia patients would i be allowed , cause one of my family members work there as well.
Any work experience you do in year 10 will.probably be "too old" for use in a medicine application by the time you apply anyway, even if you can get any in the first place.

I would suggest not worrying about medicine specific work experience until later as above, and be pragmatic and look for work experience that would potentially help you get a part time/casual job as a student (in 6th form or uni). Do retail, food services, etc. That way if you want to take up some casual work to earn some.more money, you are much better able to - and won't be any worse of for applying to medicine
