What work experience should I do?

Hey,

I wanted to know what work experience I should do for medicine. I'm in year 9 and the holidays are approaching. I'm not sure I can volunteer at my local GP, there aren't usually opportunities like that where I live. Could anyone suggest courses or work experience for me to do?

don't do your in-person work experience so early, wait till year 11 summer at the earliest. you're going to forget the impact the work experience had on you as time goes by, even if you make really really good notes, and this will ultimately reflect in your personal statement. if its online then its more reasonable.
but to answer your question - try contacting the HR departments at hospitals, volunteer at a care home/school/literally anywhere that requires you to interact with people
online WEX includes Observe GP, BSMS and springpod. if you want links then lmk

Thanks for the advice. If you don't mind, could you provide the links for some of them?

year 9 is a bit early for work experience but good to see your determined, if you really wanted something to do you could volunteer in a care home or try and get a part time job anywhere (doesn't have to be medicine related) (may be difficult due to your age tho)

think before applying to this one, you will start to receive an onslaught of emails every single day, of which a large proportion are trying to convince you to sign up to a very expensive (thousands of pounds) summer school. the wex is free though, i think they release a new set of videos every month and the programme repeats every six months
