Triple or combined science

Hi, I'm not sure whether to take triple or combined science. On one hand, combined content is less, I can focus more on my other subjects, and I'm not planning to take science further in the future, but on the other hand, triple gives an extra GCSE and the content can be interesting, Please can someone give advice?Thank you so much.

Triple is harder, but also lots of this is because there's just more content you need to learn.
Note you can still do science A levels with combined science, so it won't be limiting your options.

It depends what grades you're already getting/how you're currently finding science in whatever year you're in.
I'm going to assume you're in year 9. At least in my school, in year 9 you do combined science. If you're finding that quite easy and interesting, I'd recommend doing triple, as otherwise you might find combined science lessons quite boring - there's no point capping your abilities.
If you're finding science lessons or time management difficult, then combined science is a good option as you can better focus on the stuff you find hard (as there's less content, the lessons give less knowledge in a certain period of time) and on other subjects that interest you.

I recommend speaking to your teachers to see what they think; after all, they should know you quite well. Whatever path you choose, you can still change it later on (even people doing triple changed to combined in year 11) so don't stress about it
Honestly if you’re smart enough to take triple it’s not that much extra content for an extra gcse. I just finished triple and loved it, you get to do space and the content isn’t that much harder for the most part. I would recommend it personally but i love science! What grades do you get currently?

I currently take separate science and I don’t really find it too overwhelming tbh it doesn’t really feel like you learn too much and if you enjoy it I recommend that you should take it but then again if you aren’t thinking taking any sciences for a level I guess it can be a bit of a waste of an option when you could choose something else. I use to regret choosing it but then realised it’s not as bad as I thought compared to choosing a whole other subject like history bc the content is much more. than it is for science as there is only a few more topics in and you learn it in depth a bit more!! Such as for physics we learnt a whole other topic than combined did for paper 1 being astronomy and for chem we learnt another!Hope this gives you a bit more of an insight 🙂

well
im yr 10 studying triple
my advice is to this if u have stamina
i get what you mean
im going to study architecture in future and i dont really need science and wont be studying it further but it is very interesting content wise.
For example, in bio, you learn about the brain and do a demo dissection on an eye, which combined students do not do.
From my experience, people in my class who are failing are those who are not ready to make notes or listen to lessons, have a low attention span, and do not revise.
i have ADHD, so i do have a pretty short attention span but surprisingly, science is the only interesting lessons.
the work load is huge, like really huge.
I currently have 3 books for physics, just for paper 1 and nearly finishing the third.
chm i have 2 for chem.
triple science is if you are ready to put the work into it or not.
so it kind of depends on you.
I hope this helps

If you do higher combined, doing triple isnt harder at all. It's the same content just expanded.
