In England yes, state school, no. Still 5000 classics language entries last year for gcse, which is on par with economics gcse, and beating astronomy which is on the list. Not an untaken subject at all.

Only 6% take GCSEs in fee paying schools - this subject list should cover subjects taken in MOST schools. I wouldn't have astronomy on the list either and Economics isn't on it anyway!

5000 classics students is close to 1% of gcse entries, which should be merited on the list, I feel
No school I know teaches these - only fee-paying schools - ditto Latin and Greek
not sure about regular state schools but i've seen plenty of non fee-paying grammar schools do those languages (except greek, icl i didn't know that was a qualification)

I think if your most council schools offer it, it should be counted Art - 20 Astronomy - 30 Biology - 30 Business - 30 Chemistry - 30 Computer Science - 25 Design and Technology (DT) - 30 Drama - 30 English (Lit and Lan) - 25 French - 10 History (Ancient) - 30 History (Modern) - 30 German - 30 Greek - 15 Latin - 30 Mathematics - 35 (+5) Music - 30 Physical Education (PE) - 30 Physics - 30 Psychology - 30 Religious Studies - 30
