I'll add them again next time don't worry

No don't - too many languages - and there are quite enough choices especially starting with 30 rather than 20.

No school I know teaches these - only fee-paying schools - ditto Latin and Greek

Over 10% of my year does classical Greek, and over 20% does Latin. It’s definitely not uncommon, even if it’s not taught in your school

Is that a state school in England?

Reply 23

In England yes, state school, no. Still 5000 classics language entries last year for gcse, which is on par with economics gcse, and beating astronomy which is on the list. Not an untaken subject at all.

Only 6% take GCSEs in fee paying schools - this subject list should cover subjects taken in MOST schools. I wouldn't have astronomy on the list either and Economics isn't on it anyway!

5000 classics students is close to 1% of gcse entries, which should be merited on the list, I feel

No, need at least 5%

I think if your most council schools offer it, it should be counted
