A level options

Hey everyone i'm starting sixth form in about a month.
I'm going to be definitrly choosing 3 subjects or 4.
Subjects are: further maths, maths, physics, chemistry
if anyone knows any tips or has gotten an A* in a levels for any one of these subjects please let me know, mostly for further mathematics because i haven't done that for IGCSE. Please let me know thank you everyone !!! hope you're having a good day

its a good combination but all 4 of those is going to be a big workload just so you know, hence why most people only take 3. once again it's better to get three higher grades than four less high grades so just make sure that you can keep up with the workload and if not it's okay to drop one.
I think the best way to revise maths is just practice questions, once you understand the concept just do as many practice questions as you can to really solidify it
Physics is a lot of content (or it was for my exam board) so there's a lot to remember and for higher grade boundaries you have to be specific with a lot of it so you need to commit exact definitions to memory a good way to look at this is by looking at mark schemes

I dropped chemistry in year 1 so can't say much about that but i found it hard to just get my head round it (same for a lot of people in my year so idk if that a common trend)
I didn't take further maths for A level but i've heard that the gcse for it doesn't really have much to do with it anyway so you'll be alright not taking the gcse.

If you wanted a head start i know cgp do some jump to a level guides and i found them pretty useful

You dont need further maths realistically at GCSE to take it at A level, some topics overlap but its not too hard to learn it in your own time if your teacher assume thr whole class knows it

It's likely going to be very difficult but my advice would be, especially for maths and further maths, to consolidate your knowledge straight away every time you learn something new. Start early. This will reduce the workloads at the end of the year and you'll go into the exam feeling much more comfortable. By doing further maths you'll be doing an a level in the first year and it will be easier in the end to start things like practice questions and papers earlier because a lot of students will end up leaving revising until the last minute.

Past papers are a blessing, they'll help you identify problem areas and give you an inkling of the difficulty level you might get in the actual exam (Although this may vary). For maths I would recommend looking up A* questions as these are likely to be harder than you will find in the exam but will really teach you to apply your knowledge in difficult questions.

I would also say if there is something you don't understand straight away, don't panic! A levels are hard and as long as you work hard, you will get the results you wish for.
