Student finance

Hi, i hope you can help me. I’m currently studying medicine but am thinking of dropping out at end of fourth year as it’s not for me. Because i completed three years of med school, i end up with a degree in medical sciences. My question is, if i was to go in and do child nursing in the future, would i still get three years of full funding or would that fourth year of med school affect it. Many thanks

Hi there,

Nursing courses are Allied Health Profession (AHP) courses. AHP courses are exempt from previous study rules so you'd qualify for support for the Nursing course. You'd get funding for the duration of the course.

Thanks,

Hi Ross, thanks for replying so quick. So even though i’ve quit medicine in fourth year, i would still get full finance if i was to do a three year nursing degree. Sorry, i just need to clarify for my own peace of mind.

Hi,

As it's an AHP course previous study is disregarded so you will get support.

Thanks,
Ross
