Podiatry (pre-registration) (MSc) at Brighton not available in SFE

I have enrolled on the Podiatry (pre-registration) (MSc) at the University of Brighton. On I started my application to SFE, the course is simply not available in the drop down list. I am tempted to select the Advanced Podiatry MSc option available with the hope that it will be corrected later on. However I do not want to create further issues later on. Any advice ?

Hi @Nicemec68

Funding for the Podiatry (pre-registration) (MSc) is under the same terms and conditions as undergraduate tuition fee and maintenance loans. This course is not eligible for postgraduate funding. Please make sure you are selecting the correct options when attempting to apply for funding.

If you are still unable to find this option when selecting undergraduate loans, please contact our enquiries team who will be happy to look into this further for you. It's important you select the correct course when applying for a student loan.

I hope this is helpful.

Hi @Luthando16

Please be aware that sharing any specific interview details breaks TSR regulations and therefor Nicemec68 will be unable to confirm the specific questions in the interview.

They can however give you general information e.g. 'I'd recommend looking up ** prior to interview' or the interview structure i.e it was an interview panel etc.

Best of luck with your interview!

I have a question regarding Student Finance England (SFE) funding for students who already hold a first degree. I understand that certain allied health professions including podiatry are exempt from the usual restrictions on funding for a second degree.
Could you please confirm whether tuition fee funding would still be available in this case? Additionally, are such students also eligible to apply for maintenance support alongside the NHS Learning Support Fund bursary, assuming they meet the eligibility criteria?
I’ve previously spoken to SFE by phone but was given unclear information, so I’d greatly appreciate any clarification or guidance you can provide based on your experience or understanding.

Hi @Mb301

If you are starting an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate pre-registration degree in nursing, midwifery or allied health professions (including podiatry), you can apply for the undergraduate student loan package to cover your tuition fee and living costs (maintenance loan), even if you have studied at degree level previously.

In addition, you can apply for the NHS Learning Support Fund non-repayable bursary.

I hope this is helpful 😊

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
