Creative Writing jobs

Students who took up creative writing for masters, was it worth it and does it get you good paying jobs?

Creative writing can fit into many roles: editing, social media, article writing, short stories, marketing, and anywhere there is the written word!

Many students go on to follow great careers, it will be up to the student to find their own path. You can also progress into Academia, PhD &c.

Do I (Liz) know anyone who has gone into great-paying jobs? Oh yes, from worldwide published authors to magazine editors, social media/marketing, PhDs, teaching, nursing, finance, law and more! I also know a few professionals (doctors &c.) who have taken the course to communicate more effectively via the written word.

It's not just for novel writers!

Hi @ishi_bara

We offer MA Contemporary Creative Writing, it's a fully flexible programme which can be completed on a full or part-time basis, should you wish to pursue other career endeavors whilst studying.

The MA programme equips writers with the necessary skills to enter a variety of positions within the creative industries and even works towards the publication of their own work. We teach students the professional skills required to approach film and television producers, agents, publishers, and journals and publications (both in print and online) in order to sell and commission their work.

Potential career paths for students include published writers of poetry, fiction and nonfiction; writers in Writers’ Rooms for TV; dramaturgs; radio writers; editors; publishers; agents; journalists; reviewers; development executives; screen industry workers; copywriters; advertisers; media and publicity specialists; academia.

I hope that helps and provides you with some more information! 😃
