Help with CAS Number, Visa, and Tara Nirula Scholarship!

Hey everyone,

I could really use some advice! I've been accepted to UAL for a program starting on 23rd September, but I'm running into a few issues:

Scholarship Results: I'm applying for scholarships, but the results won't be out until mid-August. I'm worried this might delay my CAS and visa process. Does anyone know if that's cutting it too close, or will I still have time?

English Proficiency Test: I did my Bachelors in Design from India, and the medium of instruction was English. None of the other unis I applied to required an English test, but UAL might need one. Taking the test would delay everything even more. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you handle it?

CAS and Visa Process: Any tips on speeding up the CAS and visa process? What’s the latest I can start and still be safe?

Tara Nirula Scholarship: Has anyone here received the Tara Nirula ISH Scholarship? I really need to get in touch with someone who has, as I have 1-2 doubts regarding the application.

Would appreciate any help or experiences you can share! Thanks a lot!

Hey I hope everything works out great!
Im in a similar situation, what helped me is to scan my documents, cerificates and Identification early so I could be fast with the applying process. Keep in mind the finance document 28 days rule, this slowed me a bit down due to the deposit payment. Its hard to get them to process the CAS faster but they try their best to give you updates and process as fast as they can. Usually it says it takes 3 to 6 days. With the visa it takes 3 weeks normally but you can pay for priority to get it faster. Also make sure to check for accomodation and apply as soon as possible to get your desired room. Good luck!

Hi Ria, Congratulations on your offer!

Some advice from me -

1) Scholarship - CAS and VISA will not be affected by scholarship results. VISA is followed by CAS so wait till you receive the CAS no. Ideally, you would be able to receive your scholarship result before that.

2) I myself took the IELTS 6 months prior to joining the course even though I just graduated. It's advisable for students to take IELTS early on to avoid delaying the admission process. If you have applied via official counsellor, please enquire if you need it or not. My advice is to take it if mentioned. It's a quick exam and results come out in 2-3 days. Do not delay that further.

3) CAS is not in your hand. You can only proceed with the VISA once you have CAS. As this is a busy time for the university, please be patient and keep you other documents ready so you can apply for visa immediately you receive CAS. I received CAS end of August but was well prepared with other documents so my VISA application processed the very next day.

4) You have the option to get priority and super priority visa for which there is a charge. For that you can speak to VFS Global once you reach that step.

Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

Best,

Hello,

Some CAS advice from our Admissions and Enquiry teams:

Our Admissions colleagues are working as quickly as possible to issue CAS statements.

Please log into your UAL Portal and check all of the following:

You have firmly accepted your offer

You have uploaded your academic offer conditions

You have uploaded an English language certificate or evidence you meet an exemption against the English language document request.

The passport you will make your visa application with

You have paid your deposit

Regularly check your UAL Portal for document requests or details of documents which have not been accepted. If applicable, you’ll see a document upload button which may also include instructions on what you need to provide.

We aim to issue your CAS within 14 working days of your offer being confirmed as Unconditional Firm in your UAL Portal.

You mustn’t make any arrangements to travel to the UK until you’ve received your CAS statement. We can’t guarantee the exact date your CAS statement will be issued.

In the meantime, you can read more about getting a CAS on our student visa guidance webpage.

Thank you for your patience. We won’t keep you waiting any longer than necessary.
