Pre-settled/ Postgraduate Loan

Hi there, I am now finishing my final year of university in the UK. I am an EU national from Germany, and have lived in the UK on my own for a year before I started university. For my undergraduate degree, I was classified as a Home student and I have received tuition fee funding (no maintenance loan).
I have received and accepted my offer for a postgraduate course (I am intending to stay at the same university that I am currently at) - and now that postgraduate loan applications are open, I would like to apply for one to cover my tuition.

The application asks me to provide my residence history, with an emphasis on my 'permanent' addresses. I have lived in the UK on my own, in a rented place, before I started university & then moved into student accommodation - the application says that halls of residence don't count as permanent addresses. However, this is where I lived & I did not live anywhere else, and have not spent time outside the UK for more than three months ish (I did an internship for 3 months outside the UK) - but I have no other address I can provide other than my student accom, as I have not lived with my parents (who live outside the UK).

Hi pia.bre,

If your university accommodation has been your permanent address then it is fine to list this on your Postgraduate Loan application.

Thanks,
Calum

Thanks for your reply, I really appreciate it, as I can't find much help online because my personal situation is somewhat unique!
I have had to move after each academic year - as my university city does not offer permanent leases that were affordable to me, but only limited time leases. So in this case, I will enter these addresses in my residence history for the past three years, correct?

Hi Pia,

Yes, that's correct.

Does this affect my eligibility for a postgraduate tuition loan in any way?

Living in student accommodation/private lets etc doesn't impact your finance.

Thank you Claire for your help.
One more question: The form is asking me for my permanent address on the 1st of September 2021. My rental contract for my London home ended on 31/08/2021, and I stayed with some friends until I moved into my student accommodation on 11/09/2021 (this is when the accommodation contract started) - what address is advisable for me to enter in this case? My London address, or my student accommodation address?

I would suggest putting your London address based on what you have advised.
