Improve Overall Grade for BTEC

Hello,

I have a question. So I have completed BTEC Extended Diploma in Business and I achieved grade MMM. I will get grade results in August. However, I was so close to getting grade DMM, so I was wondering if it’s possible to improve grades? my target grade is MMM and i’m happy. Here’s my overall grades for units I got:

Unit 1: Exploring Business - Merit
Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign - 10 (pass)
Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance - 10 (near pass)
Unit 4: Managing an Event - Merit
Unit 5: International Business - Merit
Unit 6: Principles of Management - 14 (pass)
Unit 7: Business Decision Making - 11 (near pass)
Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection Process - Distinction
Unit 13: Cost & Management Accounting - Distinction
Unit 18: Creative Promotion - Distinction
Unit 21: Training and Development - Distinction
Unit 23: The English Legal System - Merit
Unit 28: Branding - Merit

These are what I got. Do I have to retake Extended Diploma or take exams?

Hi there!

Honestly it depends on whether you're happy with it or not and whether the grade you get will allow you to achieve the specific course or subject later on. To me i'd say MMM is so good! if you want to retake however to get that distinction then go do that. I was also in a similar position in my BTEC sport and had gotten a merit. We were then able to resit the exam and a got a D* in the end. So honestly up to you, im pretty sure the exam takes the highest grade anyway so say if you were to get lower in your second retake, they would take the first one. Hope this helps :smile:

*HOWEVER im not sure if yours is different as obviously you do business. If you have to restart another year or something then dont bother retaking it*

yeah lmao i dont want to retake coursework but if i have chance to do resit for exam, i would.
