Hello. I applied to join Greater Manchester Police on the PCEP route in November 2024 and by March I had completed my medical and received my conditional offer. On the 17th March I received an email saying the intakes for 2024 to 2025 were complete and that they were now working on the intakes for 2025 to 2026, starting in July.

I know that this is a chat about the PCDA route but I'm just wondering how long did it take for any of you, to receive a start date after completing your medicals and receiving your conditional offers?

Only thing I am waiting for now is the vetting, which they say will start once I've been assigned to an intake.

my vetting took 8 months- which is different for every individual but don't expect to happen less than 3 months regardless.. my application date to start date is 14 months

That's definitely something I'm worried about as I know that vetting can take a while. Thought GMP would have looked to start vetting as soon as possible, rather than waiting for me to be assigned to an intake. Doesn't make sense as its just prolonging the whole process.

(I know this is for pdca but it the same tests)I've applied for the GMP through the PCEP route. Just passed the SJT and QBS. I’m confident in passing the written exercise but I’m not confident at all in the briefing and video competency exercises. Does anyone know what questions are on there? And advice on how to pass those two exercises? Would really appreciate some help plse

just do a bit research on youtube and watch videos. also make yourself comfortable to talking on the camera with time limit. English is not my first language and i was so worried and scared but try to calm yourself down. if you wanna do this as a job you need to stay calm and answer the questions best as you can anyway. honestly cant remember the questions but i remember scenarios of examples i managed to find it on internet . good luck!

Than you so much! I also wanted to ask you if they allow you to physically write down notes at any point during the briefing exercise? So i can remember what points to make.
