Help!! :( I got predicted E/D/A* bio/chem/psych but idk what to do

Throughout my first year, I’ve gotten grade Es in my unit tests and a few Ds ultimately resulting me a predicted E for biology. In chemistry, I have been getting mostly D’s and for some tests, a few marks off a C. In the end, I got predicted a D. Luckily in psychology, I have been getting As and A* so overall it was predicted an A*.

I’ve been wanting to do something like neuroscience or psychology or a degree with a mix of these two in uni. However, I’m not sure if I will be able to go to uni in 2025 with my predicted grades. I know there’s the alternative to repeat another year and change course however I want to prove that I can turn my grades around and still keep going. Would I still be accepted if I study hard enough over the summer and try getting higher grades in biology and chemistry?
Did any of your teachers mention if there will be a chance to move your predicted grades up? Even if they don't end up changing your predicted grades it's important that you don't give up and work hard because at the end of the day it's your actual a-level results that are more important than your predicted grades. You need to ask yourself is there a reason why you're doing much better in psychology than your other subjects, for example maybe your revision techniques aren't as strong for chem and bio or you might just find these subjects harder (this is why I was getting lower grades in bio than in my other subjects). You could also show your teachers you're enthusiastic to improve by contributing/asking questions in class. Maybe try talking to your teachers 1-2-1 because they could support you more with your next steps

I know the feeling. I was in a similar situation. In Year 12 summer I got DDD (bio, chem, maths) in my mocks despite how hard I revised (was like this all of year 12). Over the summer, I studied really hard and I managed to secure A*AA predictions. You will have a chance to redeem yourself in autumn mocks, they cannot predict you a D/E if you get for example a B. If you don’t have autumn mocks you have to discuss with your teacher. I was determined to apply for medicine and I was given a chance to sit tests in September in an attempt to redeem myself.

From personal experience it is possible to go from a D to an A but it depends on how determined you are. I revised wrong the whole time, reading through the textbook and memorising mark schemes. I instead switched to more effective methods such as active recall via anki and past papers. All it takes is the right revision technique. You could use the summer to explore different methods that actually work for you, but I am very heavy on active recall (and past papers to track progress).
