Possible to sneak vapes into prom?

I've got my Year 11 prom tomorrow. A few friends and I are planning to drink beforehand, and I think that should be fine (I doubt they have breathalyzers like at American proms, plus we'll chew gum just to be safe). There's also an afterparty, and I was planning to bring my THC vape. A couple of friends were planning to bring their vapes too. However, I've heard security is quite tight, so it might be difficult to sneak them into the prom. I could leave it at home, but the walk from my house to the afterparty is about half an hour and takes me through areas I'd rather avoid at night. Besides, going home and then heading straight back out probably wouldn’t sit well with my parents. So, how strict is the security? Is it possible to sneak in vapes or even alcohol?
