School socks

At the time which I'm writing this, its currently summer and I have another year of secondary school. I never really break the rules and rarely bend them I just find it strange on why when the temperature is 20 degrees I'm still being made to wear tights. No socks are allowed at my school if you wear a skirt and I just cant understand why. I've looked to see if anyone else shared this problem but it seems as though they just aren't allowed knee-high socks. Even small white or black socks are restricted and you know if you've ever worn tights how they stick to you when sweating and are just really uncomfortable and not ideal for hot weather. I'm not really one to complain but id just want to know why as I don't feel like it makes that much of a difference. Boys in my school are also not allowed to wear shorts so I can image they are in the same sort of situation. If you have any idea why please respond.

Hi, hate wearing tights during the summer too :frown:. Try buying some that aren't made of cotton. Or possibly wear 15 denier tights if the uniform policy doesn't say it needs to be opaque. Or get your parents to write an email complaining about the treatment of their daughter. Get all the other kids too. That's what I'd do tbh.

I think it's because of modesty but I'm sure you can ask them to make an exception during the summer.

is it a religious school? they tend to be stricter on uniforms/dress codes than others, though i go to a catholic sixth form and pretty much anything slides. your school just seems odd
