University freshman here - been invited on holiday in early October. Should I do it?

It's a 4 night holiday from the 7th October, and would be my first foreign holiday as well as my first holiday in a few years. I really want to say yes but I'm not sure if it's a good idea that early into term.

I'm starting my first year of uni in September, freshers week runs from the 23rd to the 29th. I don't want to miss out on anything really important but I also don't mind catching up with any missed content when I get back.

I'd like to have enough time to get introduced to university life, where I have to go, who my professors are etc. Do you think going on holiday on that date would be a good or bad idea?

So, after freshers week, you have one week of classes before your holiday. Universities love to monitor attendance and i remember missing three days of uni and getting a very passive aggressive email saying that my attendance is not good and i need to go back in classes, and I only missed three days of classes because i was stuck in my home town and public transport wasn't running and no-one could drop me off. The first few weeks of Uni are the most important, they go through the assignment layouts and the module structure and they tend to not always record these bits of information.
Is there no way that this holiday could start during freshers or wait until you've been at uni for a month?
