Problem Summary
TSR is currently unavailable

Problem Details
For a couple of weeks, the "currently unavailable" page appears regularly when displaying a thread. When refreshed it generally appears but it looks like some links constantly give it now, even when refreshed such as
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7496008&p=99663817&page=1&viewing_newpost=1#post99663817
The thread starts to be displayed, then disappears to the bottom and says unavailable and refershing makes no difference. It was from a notification.

Yes, and when its refreshed its still currently unavailable. It seems to happen a fair bit (intermittent problem) in the past couple of weeks with "most" threads.

Hi. We are having a look into this, just to keep you updated. We haven't been able to replicate it yet but will keep investigating. Thanks for letting us know!

For me, its happening regularly and stripping out all the &... stuff to leave
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7496308
rather than

fixes the problem and displays the thread, rather than the currently unavailable page.

If you have time when it happens next, please could you post a screen shot here of the error that you see? It might help us narrow it down.
Before you take the screen shot, if you could press F12 to open the developer console in Chrome and include that in the screenshot that might also help, since we might see more error details.
Thanks again!

The same thing keeps happening to me too. Any idea why?

A workaround for me appears to delete the part of the url starting with
&page=
and hit enter. I guess its something to do with how the url gets parsed and the page created but its just a guess.

Thanks for letting us know. We haven't found the cause yet but we have been trying to. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will post here when we fix the issue or if we make any progress.

Thanks for suggesting this. You're right that the new post URLs are treated differently when the page gets created because it has to work out what post to show you. Your workaround will avoid that part and it seems that is where the problem is.

Problem Summary
TSR is currently unavailable
Problem Details
For a couple of weeks, the "currently unavailable" page appears regularly when displaying a thread. When refreshed it generally appears but it looks like some links constantly give it now, even when refreshed such as
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7496008&p=99663817&page=1&viewing_newpost=1#post99663817
The thread starts to be displayed, then disappears to the bottom and says unavailable and refershing makes no difference. It was from a notification.

Still seems to be happening.
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7434006&page=11
gave a "currently unavaiable", but showed the page when refreshed.

Hi, I still am on my laptop. But not as much as I did previously.

Agree thats its not happening as much. One way it seems to happen consistently (laptop-chrome) is when you click on the page number near the top of the page so the url is something like
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7434006&page=11
always gives "currently unavailable". Refreshing gives the expected page. However, if you manually edited the url to "=9", rather than clicking the page number "9", so
https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7434006&page=9
it works as normal.
Thanks @Peanut_Butter and @mqb2766. I'll pass this on and we can have another look at the problem.
Hi @Peanut_Butter and @mqb2766. This bug has proven quite hard for us to reproduce and track down. Are you still experiencing it as regularly? If its still happening we will keep investigating but we wanted to check in case it was an intermittent issue with the site. Thanks both for helping with this!

For me, it seemed to disappear fairly soon after the previous post.

Hi, I haven’t used tsr on my laptop in a while because of this. But if it happens again I’ll let you know. Thanks.
