Entry to MOptom 2024

I've had a question for a while which I've not been able to find an answer to, so far, online.

I've applied to and accepted offers for Optom courses via UCAS and I'm aware that if I do not meet the grade requirements, clearing is an option. I wanted to know if I can still apply to Optometry, if available through clearing, at different universities. FOR EXAMPLE: MOptom at a uni which was not one of my firm nor insurance choices.

Is that an option for me, who has already applied to Optometry before? I know you cannot apply to the same course at the same university, but I'd like to know if I can apply to the same course at different unis.

Thank you in advance for anyone willing to reply with the answer.

Yes, if you have no place on Results Day morning, and other Unis are offering places in Clearing and you match the entry requirements, yes, you can phone that Uni about a clearing place.

No, no-one cares if you came through Clearing - the only impact it might have on you is that you might be at the back of the queue for Uni accommodation.

Thank you for answering! Another quick question. Clearing opens this friday, so are available clearing courses visible to everyone right then and there? Or is it exclusive to those who got no offers first?

Clearing is only open to those who already have their results.

And, realistically, most Unis will not have many known gaps at this stage - most vacancies wont be known until A level Results Day.
