Uni accommodation reptiles policy?

I have had a pet snake for 5/6 years who is very dear to me but I am moving to Uni soon and ideally I would want her to come with me because I don't want to leave her behind with my parents who I know won't look after her properly since I was the only person who has ever taken care of her and I can't leave her with my friends since they are also going to uni/never taken care of a reptile before so I wanted to know what are the general rules regarding reptiles in student accommodation or what other solutions there are because I really want her to be with me since I cannot stand being separated from her for long periods of time.
Thank you

Generally speaking, your accommodation contract in students halls will specify "no pets" (although you might find some which would allow a goldfish or something - you'd need to check with each target uni).

Private landlords are more likely to be amenable to pets, but it means you'd miss out on the "student halls" experience in first year.

i've never heard of any student halls allowing pets sadly , like the above reply said you're most likely better off searching for pet-friendly studios/flats however i would assume the rent would be double and some more than it would be if you lived in halls and like they said you would miss out on the experience - im not sure how high maintenance it is to take care of a snake but i doubt any student halls would even have enough room to accommodate them sadly as the rooms are so small . if there are no other options for you to take her with you and if i were in your position i would leave them with your parents and make them a list of what they need to do to look after her? and of course you can always go and visit during reading weeks and holidays

Hi @Ripley_Kaegonni
Generally speaking most universities have a no pet policy in student halls. However, i would recommend emailing the accommodation team at your prospective university just to clarify.
Hope this helps!
