Where you say for the summer, do you intend to not go to uni and go straight into full time work? Or do you mean you only intend to work during the summer?

Bookkeeping roles are competitive, and usually employers are looking for someone permanent and full time i.e. years.

Whilst there is no legal requirement to have any qualifications to become a bookkeeper, they are looking for people who are competent. The go to qualifications for bookkeeping are AAT, IAB and ICB. I recommend AAT should you ever do it, because it's a qualification that allows you to transition into full professional accounting qualifications should that ever interest you.
Also, you can go straight into AAT Level 3, and skip the first 2 levels. This should take you about a month (ideally a few weeks if you study hard).

Having said that, if you intend to become an accountant, you would only need a few passes at A Level and a few good GCSEs in order to get into the profession (the top end employers would be looking for higher grades though). This is because the entry requirement for most professional accounting qualifications are usually a few A Levels and some good GCSEs.

So yes, you can be considered even without qualifications. However, it's very unlikely they will take on a trainee who is only going to be there for a few weeks/months. As I don't know your specific circumstances, I can't really give you a firm answer.
