Physiotherapy part-time

Hi,

Is there any part-time Physiotherapy students out there?
Specifically any who are mature students who have life commitments, I am wondering how you manage the degree work, placements etc alongside a part-time or full-time job?
How do the placements fit around a job you already have to pay for rent, food and bills etc?

Thank you

Will you doing the BSc or MSc ?
Unsure how part-time works but here info on full time course:
Each work in the same way funding wise, you can apply for student fees, maintenance loan and Nhs Bursary. Placements are full time and can be up 8 weeks long so imagine that you can't keep a regular job. If you do BSc You could work through the summer holidays, evenings or weekends. As the MSc Is a 2 year compressed though you won't get the same holidays free to work, you may be able to fit in evening or weekend work.

Im applying for OT MSc and wont be working during my course, I worked out I can apply for student course fees.
Living costs : Maintenance loan : 11,000
NHS Bursary: 5,000
Council tax support as full time student
This will just get me by on a shoe string budget and there maybe more grants that I have yet to learn about

Hi thank you for the info, I’d be applying for BSc.
I’ve read on the uni website that part-time contact time is 8-10 hours per week - do you think that would be time spent in uni with lectures and seminars etc? I’ve also watched a video that says there’s six 5-week full time placements over the course but I’m not sure if that’s for full time or part-time.
I’d like to find out more, you know like almost be able to talk to a part-time student but I have no idea where to go or who to talk to about the idea of applying in more detail. I’ve also emailed to uni to see what a part-time table looks like for a Physio student but unfortunately they were unable to help me due to them not being produced yet.
I know I’d have to do an access course before applying to uni anyway, so I’m not sure whether to just do that first and worry about everything else when it comes, or just accept that financially this isn’t an option for me at all 🙈
Thank you for sharing though 🙂
