Trainee sonography

Hello all,

I’m hoping to gain some advice or some clarity on a situation I have been experiencing these past few months. I am a qualified nurse, and I am keen on transitioning into the field of ultrasound. After nine years as a theatre nurse, I am eager to embark on a new chapter in healthcare. However, my attempts to move into this field have been unsuccessful. Despite applying for trainee sonography positions five times, I haven't progressed to the interview stage. This situation is increasingly disheartening, as I am eager to leave my current role and embrace this new opportunity.

Does anyone have advice, tips, or suggestions to help increase my chances or recommend other avenues to get into sonography?

Thank you.

Sonography is a very competitive field. Do you have the time or opportunity to volunteer in the sonography department so that your face is known next time an opening arises (see the following thread)?
