hello! i was just wondering whether anyone had any advice on trying to feel more confident as a leaner driver? i struggle very badly with my confidence when driving (having an anxiety disorder definitely doesn't help!) and end up making silly mistakes because of it. a few months ago, i failed my first driving test because i hesitated out of nervousness on a roundabout, causing me to pull out on someone (which i admit was incredibly stupid, and i should have just waited). but the examiner said that he actually thought my driving was really good, and he would put my faults down to nerves. my next driving test is in two weeks and i am SO scared. i can hardly sleep the night before a lesson because i get really nervous, and just make really silly errors, but i don't necessarily think i'm a bad driver.
i guess i was just wondering if anyone has ever been in this position before, but managed to build their confidence - if so, how? i don't have a car that i can drive in outside of lessons, and i am trying to do as many lessons as possible. i just don't know what else i can do to feel less anxious about it .
Watch some videos and ask yourself what you would do in that situation. Feeling tired before driving won't help it would make it worse you need to sleep.
thank you for your advice . i'm happy to say that i passed last week, and your advice definitely helped me!
