Hi, I have been offered an unconditional offer for mental health nursing in Uk. I am worried about the health checks I am a healthy person I train every day but considering the BMI I am overweight, did anyone successfully pass it even with a high BMI? Thank you

Hi

They only use your bmi for your Covid age on the occupational health form. They won’t discriminate against it

If your bmi is below 30 then it will be 100% ok

Don't panic about your BMI being large okay.

I work alongside nurses who are absolutely large and they are doing fine 👍.

The occupational health people are there to assist you with anything as not usually against you okay.

Good luck with everything and look forward to starting as a student nurse

Do not worry about your BMI, on my course there are overweight/obese students, and it has never been an issue with getting onto the course.
The only thing that's come up has been COVID-related checks, but it has never stopped them going to university or placement
