He has form.

The proposals to stop people getting ripped of by ground rent were quickly ditched when investors complained that it would undermine a source of easy money for them.

Sunak was prevented as a boring maths geek and a safe pair of hands. He has shown himself to be just as heartless, crooked, and chaotic as his predecessors, and he's also spectacularly inept at politics.

Starmer isn't inspiring, but he is at least a follower of rules and isn't promising everyone free sparkly unicorns on stilts.
Yeah it was never going to happen, just another dishonest bid for headlines and distraction.

Thankfully his party will soon be dropping him as their party leader, assuming that enough of his constituents are willing to keep him as their MP.

yhh the idea was never gonna work tbh smoking is digusting but that policy economically would never work out
