for trying to make new friends there's an app called meet up that has events you can join for free last one I done was an food and drink festival with one of my friends and it was pretty fun to do 😀

Hey, depending on the colleges or sixth forms you applied to, you might be expected to do "transition work", which is basically to help bridge the gap between A Levels and GCSEs and make Y12 easier. So you could try and get a head stuff and just watch some videos for the subjects you doing so you know what you're in for come September.
I spent my Y11 summer doing different virtual work experience programmes and courses (so quite academic based stuff) but I also went to some festivals with friends. If you're looking to make new friends, I suggest going on a residential course? Some unis host them for Y11s but there are also more activity based ones. They force you to interact with difficult people and overall are quite enjoyable.
I think getting a job would be good (it might be difficult since no one likes to willing hire 16 year olds for decent positions) but if you wanted a job during college/sixth form it would help your CV
