Teaching Abroad/Primary School Teacher?

Hi,

My dream has always been to teach abroad in the Middle East specifically Qatar once I graduate and become a qualified primary school teacher.

I have been looking at few websites and I see that majority of the companies do provide you with an accommodation, work visa and etc. However, I got few questions in regards to this. Do graduate primary school teachers get accepted into teaching abroad? Or do I need 3+ years of teaching experience in the uk first. I have placement experiences of working in a day nursery, preschool, tuition centers and a primary school. During my PGCE year I’m sure I’ll have a 1 year experience of teaching in primary school as well. Would this be enough for employees to see? Can a new graduate be given the opportunity to take this role?

Hi,

Do you have a current undergraduate degree with QTS?

The primary education courses at YSJ, do have a the chance to have a semester or year abroad. I'm not too sure the exact schools in which countries that YSJ have partnered with, as it has changed a few times, but I have left a few links below for you to have a look through, in regards to the course

Initial Teacher Education (QTS) | York St John University (yorksj.ac.uk)
Outgoing York St John students | York St John University (yorksj.ac.uk)

Hope this helps,

Hi, my school always recruits young teachers from the UK. It is situated in Qatar and called the 'Newton British Academy'. It comes under the Newton group of schools - maybe worth having a google/linkedin search. Best of luck!
