help with possibly reapplying for medicine

hello!
I've just finished my a level exams and I have an offer for medicine at AAA. Following the exams I have a feeling I haven't met my offer for chemistry (the chemistry papers did not go well at all but all my other papers were fine). Despite not knowing my a level grades, should I book the UCAT now and sit it this summer, or wait until I get my results back and see if I get in first? If I were to do that, would I book my UCAT immediately after if I didn't get in or wait until the following year to sit it and in the mean time revise to resit the subject in which I missed my grades? I just want to know the best course of action and would love to hear some advice from people who have been in this situation!

Book it now for after results day. If you need to sit the UCAT again, you sit it. If you get into Medicine, then you just cancel the test and get your money back (as long as you do it 24 hours in advance).

If you wait until results day to book the UCAT, then you might find there are no test slots available. Which means you'll need to take it next summer and effectively be forced to take two gap years instead of one, which you'd ideally hope to avoid.

I plan to reapply to medicine if i get the grades needed. I booked a UCAT date for late September, and I plan to wait until results day. That way If i get the results I have over a month to prepare for the UCAT. If I don’t get the results I can just cancel.
