Bradford university resits procedure

Hi, ive finished my first year in university however iv failed the two maths modules i had on my course. The coursework that i had along side the exams i did well in and the rest of the modules too. I got everything above 50%. Now my concern is how will i carry on for instance will i resit both exams? The one i got the lowest in? Bare in mind on one i could possibly given a compensated pass since i got 36% on it. Im really confused and tbh fearful as to what the uni will do in regards to my progression into next year. Another thing is that the supplementary period starts on the day im meant to go on a holiday which i most likely will have to reschedule and that will obviously mean i have to spend lots of money.

I find it best you book an appointment with your chair of department to clear this up, just to be safe.

You'd need to check Bradford's regulations to find our how they work, but I'd expect there to be a meeting of a progress board where a decision would be made as to what you'd need to do to be allowed to proceed to year 2 of your course. You'll then be notified of that decision.

Assuming they don't allow you to progress with your existing marks, you may need to do resit exams; alternatively they might give you some other form of reassessment. You'll need to wait till you hear. Your school/department admin staff might be able to provide you with an indication as to when you'll be told.

It's unfortunate that you've got a holiday booked during the resit period. I'd always advise that people find out when the resit period is to make sure you'll be available for any exams just in case you need to do them.

Yes i regret having planned that holiday. Having done some research ive found out that the supplementary period is from 22july to 2nd of august. I also booked a meeting with my tutor but she said to me theres no point of the meeting and i should go to the result clinic next week to know whats happening.
